Art Network Track
The Art Network seminar track at Word Alive is all about equipping you to understand Art within the framework of the gospel and addressing key questions that arise as we try to live out our faith in Jesus in the world of Art.
The title of this year's Word Alive sessions for the Arts Network is : Catalysts: How can the creative Christian bring meaningful change to our contemporary culture?
And the Arts Network will be inviting 1 thinker and 1 artist. Like the formt we run Interface. We are inviting Elaine Storkey and TBC as an artist. We have structured this plan to facilitate a discourse between two speakers so that students and others at Word Alive interested in the arts can listen to a dialogue between two leading practitioners and thinkers within art and culture. The intention is to open up a space where people can engage their questions, thoughts and reflections around the role of Christian creatives within wider creative culture.
Arts Network exhibition at Word Alive
There will be also an art exhibition at Word Alive 'Titled: Catalysts and we are accepting the application from all the creative students who are joining to Word Alive. More information TBC.
Blurb for the Arts Network program
As Christians we are embedded within our cultural landscape whether we like it or not, the question is not whether to engage, but how. Through dialogue between artist TBC and philosopher and sociologist Elaine Storkey, this track will help us to think about how Christians can work creatively to bring meaningful change to our contemporary culture – addressing questions around the importance of human culture, creativity, and how we as Christians can engage well and persevere in the arts.
