Video

On 4th May 2022 we were joined by Kaori Homma for a discussion on the relationship between the Christian faith, the arts and the environment.

Kaori Homma teaches in the Fine Art curriculum area of the Foundation course at Central Saint Martins. Kaori has been teaching since 1991, while also exhibiting internationally. She has received numerous awards including the 2012 Aqua Zero Award in Spain, the 2010 International Drawing Competition in Hungary, and the 2010 British Women Artists award.
Projects and exhibitions include 'Homma Meridian' at Street Road Project Space in USA, Deptford X Festival, RA Summer Exhibition, Oriel Davies, Art Sway, Miyagi Museum, Daiwa Foundation London, and Le Pave d' Orsay in Paris. Her work contains a wide range of traditions, practices and ideas inherent in the context of both East and West. It spans drawing, traditional Japanese paper making and large scale installation. She is also a coordinator of Art Action UK, highlighting political issues related to the 2011 nuclear fallout disaster followed the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
She gained a BA in Fine Art at Tokyo University of Art and Design, and an MA in Sculpture at Chelsea School of Art.
